Vaibhav Suryavanshi - RR

Vaibhav Suryavanshi Gave Up Eating Mutton And Pizza To Smash Fastest IPL Century By An Indian

It’s hard to believe Vaibhav Suryavanshi is just 14 years old. The Rajasthan Royals sensation has been tearing apart bowling attacks filled with players twice his age, leaving fans and experts stunned by his composure, power, and sheer talent. On Monday night, the young prodigy created history by smashing the fastest IPL century by an Indian — reaching the milestone in just 35 balls against Gujarat Titans in Jaipur.

While his talent is undeniable, it’s his discipline and sacrifices off the field that have set him apart at such a young age. One of the biggest changes he made to chase his cricketing dreams was in his diet.

According to his childhood coach Manoj Ojha, Vaibhav gave up his favorite foods — mutton and pizza — to stay in peak shape and maintain fitness standards. “He’s not allowed to eat mutton. I’ve removed pizza from his diet chart,” Ojha told The Times of India. “He is just fond of chicken and mutton. He used to love pizza a lot. But he doesn’t eat it anymore. When we used to give him mutton, no matter how much we gave, he would finish all of it. That’s why he looked a bit chubby earlier.”

But with his goals clear, Vaibhav stuck to his fitness plan. And the results are now there for everyone to see.

Opening the innings for RR, he took apart the Gujarat Titans’ bowlers with complete dominance, smashing seven fours and 11 sixes in his 38-ball 101 — a knock that led Rajasthan Royals to chase down a stiff target of 210 in just 15.5 overs. His record-breaking performance has not only kept RR’s playoff hopes alive but also made him a household name across the cricketing world.

IPL Dhamaka

Ojha further described the youngster’s style and influences. “He’s a fearless batter. He has said time and again that he admires Brian Lara. But he’s a mix of Yuvraj Singh and Brian Lara. His aggression is just like Yuvraj’s.”

Suryavanshi had earlier impressed with cameos including a six off Shardul Thakur and a monstrous hit off Bhuvneshwar Kumar. But Monday’s innings cemented his place as one of the most exciting talents in Indian cricket — and a genuine future superstar.

From giving up junk food to chasing dreams with a bat in hand, Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s journey is nothing short of inspirational. The youngest ever to score a century in IPL history, he’s proving that age is just a number when discipline, talent, and passion come together.
