‘Learned a lot from him, I respect him’ – Mohammad Rizwan credits Virat Kohli

After Pakistan’s awesome win over Ireland in the second T20I, Mohammad Rizwan surprised everyone by mentioning Virat Kohli, India’s top batter. Rizwan said he’s learned a lot from Kohli and respects him a lot.

Pakistan, led by Babar Azam, evened the T20I series 1-1 by chasing down Ireland’s score of 194 pretty easily. Rizwan was named Player of the Match for his unbeaten 75 runs from just 46 balls, helping his team win by seven wickets with 19 balls left.

The Irish team had put up a good score of 193/6, with Lorcan Tucker (51), Harry Tector (32), and Gareth Delany (28) contributing well. But Rizwan and Fakhar Zaman’s awesome partnership of 140 runs for the third wicket crushed Ireland’s hopes.

Rizwan, in a chat after the match, praised Kohli unexpectedly. He said Kohli’s a great player, and they’ve learned a lot from him. Also, he doesn’t care much about his personal scores, especially when the team wins.

Pakistan is getting ready for the final T20I against Ireland on May 14 in Dublin. Meanwhile, Kohli’s busy playing in the Indian Premier League (IPL) and is doing amazingly well. He’s currently the top scorer of the season with 661 runs.

Excitingly, India and Pakistan will face off in the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 in the West Indies and the USA. They’re in Group A, and their big match is set for June 9 in New York.
