England broke Bangladesh’s winning streak at home in the last seven years

Bangladesh has won 13 out of 15 bilateral ODI series since November 2014. In the last 9 years, both times Bangladesh got defeated in the ODI series by England.

Since October 2016, Bangladesh have dominated the domestic ODI series and won seven bilateral series. However, England beat Bangladesh by 132 runs in the second ODI on Friday to take an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match series. This is the first time in seven years that Bangladesh have been defeated in a bilateral ODI series on home soil.

England won the first ODI in a challenging match with the help of David Malan’s century. But the visiting team won the second match unilaterally. Sam Karan took three wickets in the beginning and had brought Bangladesh to a bad position of 9/3. Bangladesh team was chasing the target of 327 runs in this match.

Shakib Al Hasan and Mahmudullah added 79 runs for the fourth wicket, but it was not enough. The entire Bangladesh team was all out for 194 runs in 44.4 overs and England won the match by a margin of 132 runs. Earlier, thanks to the fine innings of Jason Roy (132) and captain Jos Buttler (76), England scored 326 runs losing 7 wickets in the allotted 50 overs.
