BCCI Raises Team India Sponsorship Valuation, Eyes ₹400 Crore From New Deal

In a major development ahead of the Asia Cup 2025, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has officially invited applications for Team India’s new jersey sponsorship. This comes after the exit of Dream11, which pulled out of its three-year sponsorship deal following the government’s recent ban on online gaming and betting platforms.
BCCI Invites Fresh Applications for Team India Sponsors
According to a report from Cricbuzz, the BCCI has significantly raised the sponsorship valuation. The cricket board is now seeking ₹3.5 crore per bilateral match and ₹1.5 crore per ICC or ACC event match.
These revised figures are higher than what Dream11 was paying under the previous contract — ₹3.17 crore for bilateral games and ₹1.12 crore for multilateral matches. With the new deal, the BCCI expects to earn close to ₹400 crore over the next three years. The bidding process is scheduled for September 16, 2025.
Why The Big Difference in Rates?
The disparity between bilateral and ICC/ACC matches comes down to visibility. In bilateral matches, the sponsor’s name is printed prominently on the front of the jersey, above the chest, which guarantees higher visibility and brand recall. This is why the BCCI is asking for a premium rate of ₹3.5 crore per match.
On the other hand, during ICC and ACC events, strict tournament rules restrict the sponsor’s logo to the sleeves only, reducing visibility. Hence, the rate is fixed at ₹1.5 crore per game.
Who Can Apply?
As per BCCI’s eligibility criteria, brands from the gaming, betting, crypto, and tobacco industries are barred from bidding. Instead, companies with clean reputations and a strong financial standing will be considered, with the cricket board insisting on an annual turnover of at least ₹300 crore.
India To Feature in Asia Cup Without A Jersey Sponsor
Interestingly, with the bidding scheduled in September, Team India will enter the Asia Cup 2025 in the UAE without a sponsor logo on their jerseys. This will be a rare sight, as the Men in Blue have had consistent sponsorship for decades, ranging from Sahara to Star, Oppo, BYJU’S, MPL, and most recently, Dream11.
The Suryakumar Yadav-led Indian side is set to play the Asia Cup from September 9 to September 28, 2025. While fans will see their stars in action without a front sponsor this time, BCCI’s new deal promises to bring in record-breaking sponsorship revenue in the coming years.
