According to media reports, the Bangladesh Cricket Board has refused to give a No Objection Certificate (NOC) to Shakib Al Hasan and Liton Das for the Indian Premier League (IPL) to manage the workload for the upcoming international matches.
However, fast bowler Mustafizur Rahman has been given NOC and will leave for India to join Delhi Capitals.
Bangladesh have completed the white-ball cricket home series against Ireland, and are set to play their only red-ball cricket match against them, starting on 4 April. As a result, the Bangladeshi players who are Test bound, mainly Shakib and Liton will have to feature.
Recently, Bangladesh Cricket has become stricter with its policies, according to which players associated with the IPL can travel to India only after their national duties are over.
Both Shakib and Liton were bought by the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the second round of the IPL mini-auction. Shakib was bought by KKR for Rs 1.5 crore, and Liton was bought for Rs 50 lakh.
This season Kolkata Knight Riders have a new captain in the form of Nitish Rana. Their regular skipper Shreyas Iyer is down with a back injury and there is no hope of when he will make a comeback for the two-time IPL champions.
