Zimbabwe to Host South Africa & New Zealand for Thrilling Tests and T20I Tri-Series

Zimbabwe Cricket has announced an exciting home season featuring both South Africa and New Zealand for a mix of red-ball and T20I action. This marks a major milestone for Zimbabwean cricket, bringing top-tier international competition back to their shores.

South Africa’s Return for Test Cricket

The season will kick off with a two-match Test series between Zimbabwe and South Africa at the Queens Sports Club in Bulawayo. This will be the Proteas’ first Test tour to Zimbabwe since 2014, adding historical significance to the series.

T20I Tri-Series Featuring Zimbabwe, South Africa & New Zealand

Following the Tests, the focus will shift to white-ball cricket, with a T20I tri-series featuring New Zealand, Zimbabwe, and South Africa. Each team will play the others twice in Harare, with the top two sides competing in the final on July 26. The series will serve as crucial preparation for next year’s T20 World Cup.

New Zealand to Conclude the Tour with Two Tests

After the tri-series, Zimbabwe will take on New Zealand in a two-match Test series in Bulawayo, wrapping up what promises to be an enthralling home season.

Zimbabwe Cricket’s Excitement

Zimbabwe Cricket Managing Director Givemore Makoni expressed his optimism about the upcoming series, stating:

“Hosting South Africa and New Zealand for both Test cricket and an exciting T20I tri-series is a fantastic development for the growth of the game in Zimbabwe. We are looking forward to welcoming the teams and putting on a great spectacle for our passionate cricket fans.”
