India’s rising Test opener Yashasvi Jaiswal has confirmed his availability for Mumbai’s next Ranji Trophy 2025-26 fixture against Rajasthan, to be played from November 1 to 4 at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium, Jaipur.
According to reports, Jaiswal has formally informed the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) of his decision to rejoin the domestic setup after missing the team’s opening two matches against Jammu & Kashmir and Chhattisgarh.
Jaiswal to Use Ranji Trophy as Warm-Up Before South Africa Tests
After returning from Australia, where he was part of India’s ODI squad but didn’t feature in any of the three matches, Yashasvi Jaiswal is looking to regain match sharpness ahead of the two-match Test series against South Africa starting later in November.
A report by The Indian Express confirmed that the Ranji Trophy fixture against Rajasthan will act as Jaiswal’s key preparation opportunity before the red-ball series.
“He has conveyed his availability to the Mumbai team management and wants to get some long-form cricket before the South Africa Tests,” the report mentioned.
The talented left-hander last appeared in whites for India during the two-Test home series against the West Indies, where he amassed 219 runs in three innings at an average of 73, including a stunning century on debut.
A Look Back at Jaiswal’s Form and Recent Schedule
Yashasvi Jaiswal has had a busy international calendar since making his debut earlier this year. Following his successful stint against West Indies, he played the Test series against England, scoring 411 runs in 10 innings at an average of 41.10, with two centuries and two fifties.
Between India’s tours of England and the Caribbean, Jaiswal also featured for West Zone in the Duleep Trophy semifinal, showing his intent to stay in touch with the longer format.
While his ODI opportunities remain limited, his Test credentials continue to strengthen, making him one of the key players for India’s red-ball future.

Why This Match Matters for Jaiswal
The match against Rajasthan offers Jaiswal a vital red-ball tune-up after a short ODI stint without game time. With India set to play South Africa in a crucial home Test series, the Mumbai batter’s outing in the Ranji Trophy will help him adjust to longer batting durations and refine his technique ahead of facing the Proteas pace attack.
Given his ability to play both spin and pace with maturity beyond his years, Jaiswal’s return also strengthens Mumbai’s top order as they eye a strong campaign in this Ranji season.
