India’s T20 captain Suryakumar Yadav visited the Mahakaleshwar Temple in Ujjain on Sunday, days after leading Team India to the Asia Cup 2025 title. Dressed in traditional attire, Suryakumar and Devisha visited the historic Nandi Hall inside the temple complex. The couple joined hundreds of devotees in chanting prayers during the evening rituals. Surya also took a quiet moment to meditate inside the sanctum, symbolising his spiritual connection and gratitude.

According to the Mahakaleshwar Temple Management Committee, Assistant Administrator Himanshu Carpenter welcomed the couple and presented them with Lord Mahakal’s prasad and a traditional memento on behalf of the temple authorities.

Surya leads India to Asia Cup 2025 glory

Suryakumar Yadav recently guided India to a historic Asia Cup win, where the Men in Blue defeated Pakistan three times in the same tournament. The triumph marked India’s dominant performance under SKY’s captaincy. After the first win against Pakistan, Surya had dedicated the victory to the Indian Army and the victims of the Pahalgam attack.

However, individually, Suryakumar’s form with the bat was not at its peak — he scored 72 runs in 7 matches, averaging 18.00 with a strike rate of 101.41. Despite that, his leadership, field placements, and tactical awareness were praised by former players and experts.

India vs Australia T20I series to begin later this month

After a short personal break, Suryakumar is set to rejoin the Indian squad for the upcoming Australia tour, which begins with a three-match ODI series followed by five T20 internationals.

The first T20I is scheduled for October 29, 2025, at Manuka Oval, Canberra. The series will mark India’s final preparation phase before the 2026 ICC T20 World Cup.

Suryakumar’s temple visit reflects his spiritual discipline and calm mindset as he looks to start the tour with positive energy and renewed focus.
