Rinku Singh’s Wedding with Priya Saroj Postponed to February 2026, Reason Revealed

Indian cricketer Rinku Singh and Samajwadi Party MP Priya Saroj have officially postponed their wedding, which was initially scheduled for November 18, 2025. As per a report in Amar Ujala, the wedding has been pushed to February 2026 due to Rinku’s packed international cricket commitments.
The couple, who got engaged in a lavish ceremony at a Lucknow hotel on June 8, have been in a relationship for over a year. Their engagement saw high-profile attendees including SP chief Akhilesh Yadav, actor Jaya Bachchan, BCCI Vice President Rajeev Shukla, and Indian pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar.
Why the Delay?
Rinku Singh’s international duties during November made it unfeasible to hold the wedding as planned. The BCCI calendar has India playing:
- 3 ODIs and 5 T20Is vs Australia (Oct 19 – Nov 8)
- 2 Tests vs South Africa (Nov 14–18 and Nov 22–26)
- Followed by 3 ODIs (starting Nov 30)
Given this tight schedule, both families agreed on postponing the wedding.
Who Is Priya Saroj?
Priya Saroj is a first-time MP from Machhlishahr (Jaunpur district) and a law graduate from Amity University, Noida. She is the daughter of Toofani Saroj, a seasoned politician who served both as an MP and MLA from various Uttar Pradesh constituencies.
The couple reportedly met through a mutual acquaintance involved in cricket, and their relationship eventually received the blessings of both families.
Rinku’s Rising Cricket Career
At 27 years old, Rinku Singh has played 33 T20Is and 2 ODIs for India. Known for his explosive finishing abilities, he has become a mainstay in India’s white-ball setup and was Kolkata Knight Riders’ first retention for IPL 2025.
Though he’s not part of India’s ongoing five-Test series against England, Rinku remains a key figure in India’s limited-overs plans leading into a packed 2025–26 season.
Wedding Venue and New Date
While the Taj Hotel in Varanasi had initially been booked for the November wedding, a new date for the February 2026 ceremony will be announced by the families soon.
Fans and well-wishers will now eagerly wait for what promises to be one of the most high-profile cricket-politics weddings of the coming year.
