Rahul Vaidya Takes Personal Dig at Virat Kohli: “I Don’t Endorse Him as a Human”

In a surprising twist to an ongoing social media saga, singer Rahul Vaidya took a personal dig at Indian cricket superstar Virat Kohli, stating he can no longer “endorse him as a human being” despite being a fan of his cricketing abilities.

The controversy ignited after Kohli allegedly liked a post from influencer Avneet Kaur, which quickly became fodder for online gossip. Kohli later clarified that the action was an error caused by Instagram’s algorithm. While the matter seemed to be fading, Vaidya reignited it by mocking the incident in an Instagram story.

“Virat Kohli has blocked me for some reason,” Vaidya told ZoomTV. “I used to be his fan. I am still a fan of the cricketer, but I don’t endorse him as a human being.” He went on to sarcastically suggest, “Maybe the algorithm also blocked me on his behalf.”

Following the jab, Vaidya’s Instagram was flooded with abuse from Kohli’s fans. In response, the singer labeled the trolling fans “jokers” in a follow-up story.

“Now, I am being trolled; my wife and sister are being targeted. They are receiving vulgar abuse. That’s what happens when jokers get triggered,” Vaidya added, expressing concern over the personal nature of the backlash.

Meanwhile, Virat Kohli continues to shine on the cricket field. With 505 runs in 11 matches, he leads the scoring charts in IPL 2025. Royal Challengers Bengaluru are set to face Lucknow Super Giants on May 9 as they push for a playoff berth.
