Chawla, who made his international debut in 2006, was part of India’s 2007 T20 World Cup and 2011 ODI World Cup winning squads. Though his international outings were limited—playing 3 Tests, 25 ODIs, and 7 T20Is—he played crucial roles when called upon and finished with 43 international wickets.
An IPL Legend
Piyush Chawla was one of the most consistent performers in the Indian Premier League (IPL), donning the jerseys of Kings XI Punjab (now Punjab Kings), Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), Chennai Super Kings (CSK), and Mumbai Indians (MI) from 2008 to 2024.
With 192 wickets, Chawla is currently the fourth-highest wicket-taker in IPL history. His memorable moment with the bat came during the IPL 2014 final, where he hit the winning runs for KKR against PBKS, forever endearing himself to Kolkata fans.
