The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has officially served a legal notice to South African all-rounder Corbin Bosch for violating his Pakistan Super League (PSL) contract.
Bosch, who was picked in the Diamond category by Peshawar Zalmi during the PSL 2025 Draft in January, was expected to play a key role in the franchise’s campaign. However, the 30-year-old cricketer is reportedly considering skipping the PSL to join Mumbai Indians for the 2025 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL).

Corbin Bosch’s PSL Contract Violation
According to reports, Bosch is set to replace injured South African pacer Lizaad Williams in the Mumbai Indians squad for IPL 2025, scheduled from March 22 to May 25.
The PCB, in an official statement, confirmed the legal action against Bosch and demanded an explanation for his contract breach.
PCB’s Official Statement
“South Africa’s Corbin Bosch has been served a legal notice by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) alleging breach of the all-rounder’s contractual obligations to the PCB.”
“The 30-year-old Bosch was picked by Peshawar Zalmi in the Diamond category during the tenth edition of HBL PSL Player Draft, held in Lahore on 13 January. The legal notice was served through his agent, and the player has been asked to justify his actions of withdrawing from his professional and contractual commitments.”
“The PCB management has also outlined the repercussions of his departure from the league and expects his response within the stipulated time frame. The PCB will not make any further comments on the matter.”
Bosch’s Possible Move to Mumbai Indians
Bosch, who has not yet made his IPL debut, was previously associated with Rajasthan Royals as a reserve player.
His familiarity with Mumbai Indians’ setup stems from his impressive performances in the SA20 league while representing MI Cape Town, where he played a crucial role in their title-winning campaign with 11 wickets in seven innings at an economy rate of 8.68.
If Bosch completes his move to Mumbai Indians, he will reunite with his SA20 teammate Ryan Rickelton and strengthen the franchise’s seam-bowling all-rounder options alongside Hardik Pandya and Raj Bawa.
What’s Next?
With the PCB taking a strong stance, Bosch’s future in PSL hangs in the balance. The all-rounder now has to respond to the legal notice and justify his withdrawal from PSL 2025. It remains to be seen whether PCB will enforce harsh penalties or if a settlement can be reached between the board and the player.
