Mohammed Siraj Launches His First Restaurant ‘Joharfa’ in Hyderabad

Indian fast bowler Mohammed Siraj has added another feather to his cap by launching his very first restaurant, Joharfa, in the bustling city of Hyderabad, Telangana. Opened to the public on June 24, the restaurant serves a delectable range of Mughlai, Persian, Arabic, and Chinese cuisines, aiming to bring rich, comforting flavours to the heart of the city.
Currently touring England, Siraj shared his emotional connection with the venture. “Hyderabad has given me everything—love, recognition, and identity,” he said. “With Joharfa, I want to create a space where people feel at home, a place that offers warmth, familiarity, and of course, flavour.”
The restaurant is led by a team of seasoned chefs, with a focus on authentic taste, high-quality ingredients, and traditional cooking techniques. Siraj emphasized that Joharfa‘s identity stems from its dedication to home-style, heartfelt cooking, offering not just meals but memories to those who walk through its doors.
This marks a significant move for Siraj as he joins the league of cricketers who have ventured into the hospitality industry—names like Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly, and Virat Kohli have all made similar transitions, balancing entrepreneurship with their cricketing legacy.
At 31, Siraj continues to be a vital part of Team India, with 102 wickets in Tests, 71 in ODIs, and 14 in T20Is, making him the senior-most pacer after Jasprit Bumrah. With Joharfa, he brings the same discipline and passion off the field that he displays on it.
