The statement claimed Khushdil intervened after hearing anti-national chants, urging the crowd to stop, only for the situation to intensify further.
“The Pakistan cricket team management has strongly condemned the abusive language directed at national players… When anti-Pakistan slogans emerged, cricketer Khushdil Shah stepped in and urged the spectators to refrain,” the PCB said. “Following the team’s complaint, stadium officials intervened and ejected the disruptive spectators.”

Saturday’s incident added fuel to what has been a nightmarish tour for Pakistan. A 0-3 whitewash in the ODIs followed an earlier 1-4 loss in the T20I series, leaving fans disheartened and tensions high.
In the final ODI, Pakistan were set a target of 265 in a rain-shortened 42-over game but fell short, bowled out for 221. Babar Azam (50) and Mohammad Rizwan (37) were the only standouts with the bat, as the rest of the lineup crumbled yet again under pressure.
