Pakistan Name Missing From Logo

ICC Faces Backlash After Pakistan’s Name Goes Missing From Champions Trophy 2025 Logo During India vs Bangladesh Match

The International Cricket Council (ICC) found itself in an awkward situation after Pakistan’s name mysteriously disappeared from the Champions Trophy 2025 logo during the India vs Bangladesh Group A match in Dubai. The official tournament logo, which is displayed in the top left corner of the live broadcast, is supposed to include the name of the original host nation (Pakistan).

While there were no issues during the tournament opener between Pakistan and New Zealand in Karachi, fans quickly noticed that Pakistan’s name was missing from the logo during India’s match. This sparked widespread speculation and criticism on social media, with many questioning whether this was a deliberate omission or a technical error.

India’s Reluctance to Travel to Pakistan Sparked Controversy

The issue is believed to be linked to the ongoing tensions between the BCCI and PCB over the Champions Trophy 2025 venue. The Indian government refused to allow Team India to travel to Pakistan, leading to months of deliberations between the ICC, BCCI, and PCB. Eventually, a hybrid model was agreed upon, with Dubai hosting all of India’s matches instead of Pakistan.

ICC Clarifies “Technical Glitch” Behind Missing Pakistan Name

Following the backlash, the ICC swiftly issued a clarification. According to a Geo TV report, an ICC spokesperson confirmed that the missing Pakistan name was due to a graphics-related technical issue and was not intentional.

“The omission was due to a graphics-related technical issue, which will be rectified from tomorrow. It was not possible to change the logo during the match,” said the ICC official.

The ICC also emphasized that Pakistan’s name was visible in social media clips, proving that the glitch was limited to the live broadcast and not a deliberate removal.

India vs Pakistan: A Must-Win Clash for Pakistan

The next Group A match between India and Pakistan in Dubai on Sunday has now become even more intense, as Pakistan faces a must-win situation after their 60-run loss to New Zealand. With emotions already running high over the missing logo controversy, the upcoming high-voltage clash is set to be one of the most anticipated games of the tournament.
