I would have broken my knee but not given up bowling – Shoaib Akhtar targets Shaheen Afridi

Pakistan’s dream of becoming the world champion was once again shattered after a crushing defeat at the hands of England in the final of the T20 World Cup 2022. Recalling the defeat of the Pakistan team once again, former fast bowler of Pakistan team Shoaib Akhtar has given a big statement.

Shoaib has vented his anger over fast bowler Shaheen Afridi leaving the field due to injury in the final match. He believes that Shaheen should not have left the ground. He said that if I had been in Shaheen’s place, I would have died for Pakistan, but would have stayed on the field.

Shoaib Akhtar said about Shaheen Afridi that ‘if I had been in Shaheen Afridi’s place in the T20 World Cup final, I would never have kneeled down. The knees could be repaired later as well, but that chance would never come back.

Along with this, Shoaib further said, ‘I would take injections at that time, take pain medicine, but would definitely bowl those 2 overs. I would fall down, then get up, fall again, and get up again, but would definitely bowl. Shoaib Akhtar further said that people would say that you will be finished, your knee will break, and you will die. I would have said that it is better to die but at this time the World Cup should not go away.

Former Pakistan fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar lashed out at Pakistan captain Babar Azam. Shoaib targeted Babar for his communication style and said that Babar Azam is not a big brand as he cannot speak English.

Akhtar said, ‘Now you see. There is no character in the team. No way to talk. When he comes to the presentation, he feels so bad. How difficult is it to learn and speak English? Cricket is one thing and handling the media is another. If you cannot speak, then I am sorry, but you will never be able to express yourself on TV.
