Mumbai Indians (MI) fans have a reason to rejoice as Jasprit Bumrah has resumed bowling in the nets at the National Cricket Academy (NCA). Bumrah’s Injury and Absence
Bumrah last played for India in January 2025 during the fifth Test against Australia at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG). However, he did not bowl in the second innings due to discomfort. He was initially named in India’s Champions Trophy 2025 squad but was later replaced by Harshit Rana due to fitness concerns.
His absence has been a big blow for Mumbai Indians, who have struggled in IPL 2025, losing their first two matches against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Gujarat Titans (GT). The return of their spearhead could provide much-needed stability to MI’s bowling attack.
MI’s Next Challenge – Clash Against KKR
Mumbai Indians are set to face defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) on March 31 at the Wankhede Stadium. Having suffered defeats in their first two outings, MI will be desperate to turn things around.
While Bumrah is unlikely to play against KKR, reports suggest he might make his comeback by mid-April, providing MI with a massive boost in the later stages of the tournament.
Bumrah’s IPL Legacy
Since making his IPL debut in 2013 against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), Bumrah has become one of the most feared bowlers in the tournament. His IPL record speaks for itself:
✅ Matches Played – 133
✅ Wickets Taken – 165
✅ Best Bowling Figures – 5/10
✅ Two Five-Wicket Hauls (One of only four bowlers in IPL history)
With Bumrah back in the nets, MI fans will be eagerly waiting for his return, hoping he can guide the team back to winning ways!
