The Adelaide Strikers have suffered a significant blow as their star all-rounder Fabian Allen has been ruled out of the remainder of the Big Bash League (BBL) 2024. The West Indian cricketer sustained a high-grade hamstring strain during the game against the Sydney Thunder at Manuka Oval, where the Strikers fell short in a narrow loss to the Thunder’s Sam Konstas and Daniel Sams.

Team’s Disappointment Over Fabian Allen’s Injury
Speaking on the setback, Simon Insley, General Manager of Cricket, expressed the team’s disappointment at losing a player who had already made a noticeable impact.
“This was Fabian’s first time in Australia, and everyone was so excited to see what he could do with the bat, the ball, and in the field,” said Insley.
“We are all gutted that the results of the scans have come back ruling him out for the rest of the tournament. We wish him well in his recovery and hope to see him and his wife back in Adelaide in the near future.”
Fabian Allen’s Response
Allen also shared his thoughts on the unfortunate injury, expressing his sadness but acknowledging that such setbacks are part of the game.
“While I’m sad that I will miss the rest of the Big Bash, I guess it’s all part of sports,” Allen remarked.
“I will be back stronger than before and just want to wish the Strikers the best of luck for the rest of the tournament.”
