CT 2025: International Cricket Fraternity Reacts as India Lift Third Champions Trophy Title by Beating New Zealand in Final

Team India emerged victorious in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, defeating New Zealand in a thrilling final at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Sunday (March 9). The Men in Blue showcased their dominance, chasing down a competitive total to claim their third Champions Trophy title, adding another glorious chapter to their cricketing history.

India’s Victory in the Final: A Gritty Chase After Spin Dominance

After opting to bat first, New Zealand managed to post 251/7 in their allotted 50 overs, riding on crucial half-centuries from Daryl Mitchell (63 off 101 balls) and Michael Bracewell (53 off 40 balls). The Indian spin trio of Kuldeep Yadav (2/40), Varun Chakaravarthy (2/45), and Ravindra Jadeja (1/30) controlled the innings brilliantly, choking the Kiwi batters in the middle overs and restricting them to a chaseable total.

Chasing 252 for victory, India got off to a flying start, with Rohit Sharma (76 off 83 balls) and Shubman Gill (31 off 51 balls) stitching a 105-run opening stand. However, New Zealand fought back with quick wickets, as Mitchell Santner and Michael Bracewell applied pressure in the middle overs.

Despite setbacks, Shreyas Iyer (48) and Axar Patel (29) played crucial knocks to stabilize the chase. In the end, KL Rahul (34) and Hardik Pandya (18) guided India over the line, ensuring a four-wicket victory with six balls to spare.

With this win, India remained unbeaten throughout the tournament, cementing their dominance on the global stage.

Cricketing World Reacts to India’s Historic Triumph

The international cricketing fraternity was abuzz with reactions as players, former legends, and experts took to social media to congratulate Team India on their Champions Trophy triumph.
