In a move aimed at restoring discipline and unity within the Indian cricket team, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has issued a 10-point directive targeting the “star culture” that has often been criticized for affecting team dynamics.
The decision follows India’s disappointing performances in the Test series against New Zealand (0-3) and Australia (1-3), which saw the team miss out on the World Test Championship final. The measures, reportedly introduced in consultation with head coach Gautam Gambhir, captain Rohit Sharma, and chairman of selectors Ajit Agarkar, are designed to bring greater accountability and professionalism to the team.
