In a super exciting game against Ireland in Dublin, Babar Azam, the captain of Pakistan, made history by becoming the most successful captain in T20 internationals.
Pakistan won the game by 7 wickets, making it Babar’s 45th win as captain. This is more than any other captain before him, like Eoin Morgan of England and Brian Masaba of Uganda.
Babar showed how smart he is as a captain, especially in this game. Before this series, he had won 42 matches. But with wins against New Zealand and now Ireland, he reached this amazing milestone.
Pakistan played really well, especially Fakhar Zaman and Mohammad Rizwan, who made a great partnership of 140 runs to chase down Ireland’s score of 193. Zaman scored 79 runs and Rizwan stayed not out with 75 runs.
Ireland had set a tough target with Lorcan Tucker scoring a half-century and Gareth Delany hitting 28 runs very quickly. But Pakistan’s bowlers, especially Shaheen Afridi and Abbas Afridi, did a great job, with Shaheen taking three important wickets.
Now, with this big win, the series is tied at 1-1, and the next game on Tuesday, May 14, will be very exciting.
Babar Azam is showing that he is a great leader in cricket. With more matches coming up and the T20 World Cup in 2024, he has a chance to become even more legendary.
