India’s left-arm pacer Arshdeep Singh has emerged as one of the most reliable bowlers in T20I cricket since making his debut in July 2022. His ability to deliver under pressure was once again on display during the first T20I against England at Eden Gardens, where he produced a stellar spell, taking 2 wickets for just 17 runs in four overs.
During that match, Arshdeep surpassed Yuzvendra Chahal to become India’s all-time leading wicket-taker in T20I cricket. The 25-year-old pacer has been in phenomenal form, scalping 97 wickets in just 61 matches at an impressive average of 17.91.

Arshdeep Singh Eyes Haris Rauf’s Record In 2nd T20I
As India faces England in the second T20I on January 25, Arshdeep Singh is on the verge of achieving a historic milestone. The Punjab pacer needs just three more wickets to become the fastest fast bowler in the world to take 100 T20I wickets.
Currently, Pakistan’s Haris Rauf holds the record, having achieved the feat in 71 matches. If Arshdeep manages to claim three wickets on Saturday, he will surpass Rauf and etch his name in history as the quickest pacer to reach the 100-wicket mark in T20Is.
Fastest 100 Wickets In T20I Cricket (Only Pacers)
Player Name | Country | Matches Taken |
---|---|---|
Haris Rauf | Pakistan | 71 |
Mark Adair | Ireland | 72 |
Bilal Khan | Oman | 72 |
Shaheen Afridi | Pakistan | 74 |
Lasith Malinga | Sri Lanka | 76 |
If successful, Arshdeep will also join an elite group of bowlers to reach the 100-wicket mark in record time. Only Rashid Khan (53 matches) and Sandeep Lamichhane (54 matches) have achieved the milestone faster. Additionally, Arshdeep could surpass Sri Lanka’s Wanindu Hasaranga, who completed the feat in 63 matches.
With his exceptional form and ability to strike early, all eyes will be on Arshdeep Singh as he takes the field in the second T20I against England, aiming to rewrite the record books.
