“Small prediction. April 17 we’ll see the first 300 in IPL. Who knows, I might even be there to see it happen,” wrote Steyn.
Why April 17?
As per the IPL 2025 schedule, SRH will lock horns with Mumbai Indians at the Wankhede Stadium on April 17. The last time these two teams clashed in Mumbai, MI chased down a mammoth target with a stunning Suryakumar Yadav century. However, in their most recent encounter at Hyderabad, the match turned into a run-fest, with SRH setting a total of 277/3 and MI replying with 246/5.
Given the batting-friendly conditions at Wankhede, a high-scoring game is almost certain, making Steyn’s prediction even more intriguing.
SRH and MI’s Current Form

- MI, on the other hand, faced a disappointing four-wicket defeat against Chennai Super Kings in their opening game.
Before their April 17 showdown, SRH will take on Lucknow Super Giants at home on March 27, while MI will aim to bounce back against Gujarat Titans on March 29.
