England’s Alex Hales has been resigned to the Big Bash League 2021 by Sydney Thunder. He has been an integral part of the team for the last several seasons. He has been in tremendous form for the last two seasons. He has scored 576 and 543 runs in the last two seasons.
However, despite such a good performance, the national selector of the England team has been completely ignored. Playing for Nottinghamshire in T20 Blast this year, he has scored 482 runs at a strike rate of 178.
This year when the Pakistan team came to play on the England tour, all the senior players were out of the tournament due to the covid emergency. The England team had to enter the match with an inexperienced player, Hales was not even given a place in that team squad. It is unfair to him as a good player.
With the arrival of Alex Hales, Sydney Thunder’s squad has a total of 14 players, the search for an overseas player is still on. According to the Covid protocol, players will have to follow a two-week quarantine period, the tournament will start from 5 December.
Sydney Thunder squad: Jonathan Cook, Ben Cutting, Ollie Davies, Brendan Doggett, Matthew Gilkes, Chris Green, Alex Hales (England), Baxter Holt, Usman Khawaja, Nathan McAndrew, Alex Ross, Daniel Sams, Tanveer Sangha, Chris Tremain
