During the discussion, Jadeja quipped:
“Yaha pe saare shaadi shuda hai. Toh pitch report waise hi hai. Aap dekhte ek cheez hai. Jab aap khelna shuru karte ho toh pata chalta hai.”
(Everyone here is married. The pitch report is just like that. You see one thing, but you only understand once you start playing.)

Later, cricket legend Sunil Gavaskar joined the show and confronted Jadeja about his remarks. Jadeja defended his statement, explaining that it was a lighthearted comparison to how arranged marriages work, stating:
“While explaining the pitch, we joked about how a hover cover is like the relatives setting up an arranged marriage. You get married after just one inspection. That applies to both men and women.”
However, Gavaskar, known for his sharp wit, wasn’t going to let it slide without a cheeky reply. He responded:
“There are results after a five-day Test. What are the results you’re talking about in this case? Is it a tie?”
His humorous take left the panel in splits, showing that even in serious cricket discussions, there’s always room for some laughter.

Jadeja’s Take on Afghanistan’s Rise in Cricket
Apart from the lighthearted banter, Jadeja also shared his thoughts on Afghanistan’s incredible rise in world cricket. After Afghanistan’s historic win over England in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, he dismissed claims that it was a fluke and emphasized that Afghanistan had outperformed teams like Pakistan in ICC events.
“They have won more games than your team, my friend, in ICC events. Anybody who thinks it’s a one-off thing is fooling themselves,” Jadeja pointed out to Waqar Younis during the discussion.
Having worked closely with Afghanistan’s squad as part of their coaching staff during the 2023 ODI World Cup, Jadeja praised their unshakable self-belief, stating:
“Now they believe they can get out of any situation. When you win close games, it builds confidence. That’s what they have shown in this tournament.”
