CA threaten to cancel Afghanistan Test if Taliban ban women’s cricket

The historic Test match played between Australia and Afghanistan may not happen now. This news is coming out quoting Cricket Australia, “If the Taliban ban Afghanistan Women’s Cricket, then Australia team will not play any match with Afghanistan. Our vision for cricket is that it is a sport for all and we support the sport for women at every level.” And also asked other countries to do the same.

A Cricket Australia spokesperson said, “We cannot do anything directly against the Taliban’s decision. But can protest by not playing against the Afghanistan team. Maybe It will make a difference.” This only Test match will be played in Hobart on 27 November.

On Wednesday (September 8), the Taliban, who form the current government in Afghanistan, indicated that they would not allow women to participate in any sports. Ahmadullah Wasik, deputy head of the Afghan government’s cultural commission, said: “I don’t think women will be allowed to play cricket because it is not necessary that women play cricket. In cricket, they may face a situation where Their face and body will not be covered. Islamic culture doesn’t allow women to be seen that way.”
