Punjab Kings’ co-owner Preity Zinta recently opened up about her admiration and belief in skipper Shreyas Iyer, revealing that the entire team strategy at the IPL 2025 mega auction was centered around acquiring him. Her remarks came during a fan interaction segment on X (formerly Twitter), called “PZ Chat”, where she answers questions from followers.
Responding to a query about Iyer, Zinta praised the star batter not only for his on-field intensity but also for his calm and humble demeanor off it. “He’s very humble in person, very different from what people may think seeing his aggressive body language on the field,” she said.
Zinta went on to admit that Iyer was the focal point of their auction strategy. “The whole auction revolved around him for us as a team. We had made up our mind in Jeddah — we had to get him. And we’re glad we did,” she added.

PBKS in IPL 2025 So Far
Punjab Kings have had a competitive campaign this season, securing five wins out of nine matches.
