Michael Vaughan Trolls Indian Bowlers After Another Travis Head Masterclass

Travis Head continues to be a thorn in Team India’s side, delivering one dominant performance after another in the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25. The Australian southpaw has been in scintillating form, piling on the runs with ease and leaving India’s bowlers searching for answers.

In the third Test of the five-match series, Head smashed yet another century, crossing the 150-run mark and putting himself on the brink of 400 runs in just four innings. Having already scored 89 runs in Perth and a remarkable 140 in the second game, Head seems unstoppable against India’s bowling lineup.

Indian Bowlers Struggle to Contain Head

The likes of Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj, Harshit Rana, Nitish Kumar Reddy, Washington Sundar, Ravichandran Ashwin, Akash Deep, and Ravindra Jadeja have all been on the receiving end of Head’s ferocious stroke play. Despite India’s efforts, there appears to be no coherent plan or execution to contain the in-form batter, who is dictating terms at his own pace.

Head’s recent exploits come as no surprise, considering his history against India. From winning the WTC Final to playing a crucial role in the 2023 ODI World Cup Final, Head has repeatedly tormented the Men in Blue across formats.

Michael Vaughan’s Brutal Troll

Former England captain Michael Vaughan, known for his sharp wit on social media, didn’t miss the opportunity to poke fun at India’s bowling woes. Taking to ‘X’ (formerly Twitter), Vaughan shared a cheeky post from Day 1 of the Brisbane Test, which was delayed by rain.

“Finally India have found a field to keep Travis Head quiet,” Vaughan wrote, alongside a picture of the covered pitch.

The post quickly gained traction, drawing laughter from fans while adding to the growing frustration of Indian supporters over their bowlers’ inability to curb Head’s dominance.

Series Tied at 1-1

The Border-Gavaskar Trophy remains delicately poised, with the series tied at 1-1. India secured a commanding 295-run victory in Perth in the opening Test, but Australia roared back in the second game with a 10-wicket triumph.

As the series progresses, India will need to regroup and devise a solid strategy to counter Travis Head, who has been the standout performer for Australia. Without a solution, Head could very well tilt the series in Australia’s favor, making him the ultimate game-changer in this high-stakes contest.
