Former Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi and fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar will be seen playing for Asia Lions in this year’s Legends League Cricket. Along with them, veteran batsmen like Misbah-ul-Haq and Upul Tharanga of Sri Lanka are also included.
Asia Lions has made a strong squad for the upcoming Legends League Cricket 2023. Former Pakistan captains Shahid Afridi and Shoaib Akhtar will be part of the squad. LLC 2023 will be held on March 10 and the final will be played on March 20 at the Asian Town Cricket Stadium in Qatar.
The Lions already have former Afghanistan captain Asghar Afghan and Nepal’s Paras Khadka. Sri Lanka will be represented by Tillakaratne Dilshan, Upul Tharanga, Thisara Perera, Dilhara Fernando, and Isuru Udana. Former Bangladesh cricketers Rajin Saleh and Abdur Razzaq are also participating in the LLC.
Apart from Asia Lions, World Giants, and India Maharaja will participate in the Legends League Cricket. The first match of the tournament will be played between India Maharajas and Asia Lions. Ravi Shastri, Commissioner of Legends League Cricket, said, “We hope to take our fans down memory lane and watch their favorite players play some serious cricket. I look forward to the upcoming LLC Masters where legends will battle it out for the title.”
Six matches will be played in the league stage of the tournament and the team that will be on top will get a direct entry in the final. The eliminator match will be played on March 18, from where the second finalist will be found. The final match of the tournament will be played on March 20.
