Tamim Iqbal’s Health Crisis
Tamim, who was representing Mohammedan Sporting Club against Shinepukur Cricket Club, suddenly experienced severe chest discomfort while on the field. He was immediately rushed to a local hospital, where doctors initially suspected mild heart issues. However, while arrangements were being made to airlift him to Dhaka, his condition worsened, and he had to be urgently taken back for further medical intervention.
Dr. Debashish Chowdhury, chief physician of the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB), provided a critical update:
“He underwent initial checks at a local hospital, where mild heart issues were suspected. On the way to the helipad, he suffered severe chest pain and had to be rushed back. Medical reports later confirmed it was a massive heart attack.”
Doctors at Fazilatunnesa Hospital confirmed that an angiogram and angioplasty were performed to clear the blockage in his heart. The procedure was successful, but Tamim remains in critical condition under strict medical observation.
