In a conversation on the Humans of Bombay podcast, hosted by Karishma Mehta, Uorfi Javed addressed the unfair treatment of women on social media, particularly in cases involving cricketers’ relationships.
She revealed that she had publicly supported Dhanashree Verma by posting an Instagram story, calling out the double standards and patriarchal mindset of people who blindly blame women in such situations.
Uorfi Javed’s statement:
“Every time a cricketer is breaking up or getting divorced, the woman is bashed left, right, and center just because, in our head, our cricketer is our hero. None of us have any idea what happened between the two, or even during Natasha and Hardik’s case, but of course, it’s the woman who is at fault.”
She further mentioned how Anushka Sharma was unfairly blamed whenever Virat Kohli underperformed, drawing parallels with the treatment of Dhanashree Verma and Natasha Stankovic (Hardik Pandya’s wife).
“Oh, and don’t forget the time when Anushka was blamed for Virat’s bad performances. Remember? So it’s always the woman who is to be blamed for the man’s actions? These are grown men with fully functioning brains who know what they are doing.”

During the podcast, Uorfi also revealed that Dhanashree Verma personally thanked her for standing up against the hate campaign. The influencer urged people to be more sensible and stop blindly blaming women without knowing the full story.
Meanwhile, Yuzvendra Chahal was spotted with RJ Mahvash during the Champions Trophy final, further fueling speculation about his personal life. However, Mahvash had earlier dismissed dating rumors, clarifying that she and Chahal were just friends and urging people to stop making baseless assumptions.
