How much prize money did Pakistan pocket after winless Champions Trophy campaign

Pakistan’s Champions Trophy 2025 campaign ended on a disappointing note as their final group match against Bangladesh in Rawalpindi was washed out without a ball being bowled. The match, which held no significance for either side, was abandoned due to heavy rain, forcing both teams to share a point each.

This meant that Pakistan finished at the bottom of Group A, having lost their previous two encounters against New Zealand and India. With this, they became the first team in 23 years to exit a 50-over Champions Trophy tournament without a single victory.

Pakistan captain Mohammad Rizwan expressed disappointment over the team’s performance, stating:

“We wanted to do well and perform well in front of our nation. The expectations are very high. We didn’t perform well, which is disappointing for us. Hopefully, we can learn from our mistakes.”

How Much Prize Money Did Pakistan Earn?

Despite their winless campaign, Pakistan will still take home a significant cash prize as part of the ICC’s prize distribution structure.

The ICC increased the total prize pool by 53%, making it worth $6.9 million for the tournament. The prize distribution is as follows:

🏆 Champions: $2.24 million
🥈 Runners-up: $1.12 million
🔝 Losing semifinalists: $560,000 each
Teams eliminated in the group stage (including Pakistan): $140,000
💰 Guaranteed participation fee: $125,000

Pakistan’s Total Prize Money:

$140,000 (for group-stage elimination)
$125,000 (guaranteed participation fee)
💵 Total earnings: $265,000

Although Pakistan’s on-field performance was forgettable, they will still walk away with $265,000 from the tournament.
