Former Indian cricket captain Sourav Ganguly was involved in a car accident on the Durgapur Expressway while traveling to Burdwan for a function. Fortunately, Ganguly escaped unhurt, and no injuries were reported in the incident. The former cricketer continued with his scheduled events as planned.

What Happened?
Ganguly’s convoy was en route to Burdwan when a truck suddenly moved in the middle of the road, forcing vehicles to apply sudden brakes. The rainy conditions made the situation more dangerous, but Ganguly’s car managed to stop in time, preventing a major accident.
However, two cars following Ganguly’s vehicle collided with each other. An officer from Dadpur police station confirmed that Ganguly’s car was not damaged, and the former BCCI president remained unharmed.
Ganguly Attends Event Despite the Incident
Undeterred by the accident, Ganguly proceeded to Burdwan University’s Golapbagh campus, where he participated in an interactive session with students. He also visited the Mohun Bagan ground and Radharani Stadium, where he was felicitated by the Burdwan Sports Association.
Expressing his gratitude, Ganguly said:
“I am overwhelmed. It feels great to be in Burdwan. I am even more happy that you invited me. The Burdwan Sports Association has been inviting me for a long time. We have been working together for over 50 years, and many players have emerged from this district. We need to continue this tradition and recruit more talent in the future.”
