Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) has officially announced a 16-player squad for the upcoming two-match ODI series against Australia, set to be played at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo on February 12 and 14.
Led by Charith Asalanka, the squad features key ODI performers such as Pathum Nissanka, Wanindu Hasaranga, and rising Test sensation Kamindu Mendis. However, two notable omissions from the squad are Matheesha Pathirana and veteran all-rounder Angelo Mathews, raising questions about their future in Sri Lanka’s white-ball setup.

Australia Tour of Sri Lanka 2025
The Australia tour of Sri Lanka began with a two-match Test series at the Galle International Stadium, where the visitors secured a 2-0 clean sweep. Interim captain Steve Smith dominated the series with two centuries, earning the Player of the Series award.
With the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 just around the corner, this ODI series will be Australia’s final preparation before heading into the global event. For Sri Lanka, it presents an opportunity to fine-tune their squad and build momentum ahead of their crucial white-ball season.
