Arjun Tendulkar Takes Maiden Five-Wicket Haul in Ranji Trophy 2024-25, Shines for Goa

Goa pacer Arjun Tendulkar, son of the cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar, achieved a significant milestone in his First-Class career by claiming his maiden five-wicket haul during the ongoing Ranji Trophy 2024-25 match against Arunachal Pradesh. The match took place at the Goa Cricket Association Academy Ground in Porvorim, where Arjun’s exceptional bowling display helped his team take a commanding position.

Arjun’s Impressive Spell: 5/25 in 9 Overs

Playing in his 17th First-Class match, the 24-year-old Tendulkar showcased his growing prowess with the ball, finishing with impressive figures of 5/25 from his 9-over spell, which included 3 maidens. Arjun set the tone early by dismissing opener Nabam Hachang in just the second over, putting Arunachal Pradesh under immediate pressure after they chose to bat first.

The visitors struggled to recover as Arjun struck twice in quick succession in the 12th over. Despite some resistance from Neelam Obi (22) and Chinmay Patil (3), the Arunachal lineup quickly collapsed. By the time Arjun completed his five-wicket haul, Arunachal Pradesh was reeling at 36/5 in just 17.1 overs.

Arunachal Pradesh Bowled Out for 84

Goa’s bowling attack, spearheaded by Arjun, was relentless. Mohit Redkar (3/15) and Keith Pinto (2/31) joined the party, ensuring that Arunachal Pradesh was bowled out for a meager 84 runs in their first innings.

Arjun Tendulkar’s Growing First-Class Record

Before this match, Arjun had taken 32 wickets in 16 First-Class games, with his previous best figures being 4/49. The left-arm pacer is also a capable batsman, having accumulated 532 runs at an average of 23.13, including a century and two half-centuries. Notably, Arjun scored a century on his Ranji Trophy debut for Mumbai, mirroring his father Sachin Tendulkar, who also scored a hundred on his Ranji debut.

A Rising Star in Indian Domestic Cricket

Arjun Tendulkar’s performance in the ongoing Ranji Trophy season is a testament to his hard work and talent. His maiden five-wicket haul not only highlights his potential as a bowler but also strengthens Goa’s campaign in the prestigious domestic tournament.

Cricket fans and experts are eagerly watching Arjun’s progress as he continues to make a name for himself, carrying forward the illustrious Tendulkar legacy in Indian cricket.
