Afghanistan’s star leg-spinner Rashid Khan has been forced to withdraw from the remainder of The Hundred tournament due to a hamstring injury.
The all-rounder sustained the injury while fielding during Trent Rockets’ match against Southern Brave. His absence is a significant blow to the Rockets, who are currently fighting for a place in the knockout stages.
Chris Green has been called up as Rashid’s replacement. The Rockets will be hoping that Imad Wasim, who is also dealing with an injury, can recover in time for their crucial remaining matches.
Rashid’s injury comes as a setback after a strong start to the tournament, where he picked up nine wickets and contributed with the bat as well. The Afghanistan star will now focus on recovering in time for the upcoming Test match against New Zealand.
This is unfortunate news for Rashid Khan and the Trent Rockets. Do you think they can still qualify for the knockouts?
