Afghanistan Cricketer Ihsanullah Jannat Banned for Match-Fixing

Afghanistan international cricketer Ihsanullah Jannat has been handed a five-year ban from all forms of cricket for match-fixing.

The Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) announced the decision on Wednesday, stating that Jannat had breached the ICC Anti-Corruption Code during the second season of the Kabul Premier League. The batter admitted to the charges and confessed his involvement in corrupt activities.

This is a significant blow to Afghan cricket, with Jannat having represented the national team in Test, ODI, and T20I formats. The ACB is also investigating three other players for potential match-fixing involvement.

The ban serves as a strong message against corruption in cricket and highlights the challenges faced by cricket boards in maintaining the integrity of the game.

This is a serious setback for Afghan cricket. What do you think needs to be done to prevent such incidents in the future?
