Former Indian wicket-keeper batter Dinesh Karthik is set to become the first Indian player to participate in the South African T20 league, the SA20.
The 39-year-old, who retired from all forms of cricket in June this year, has signed a deal with the Paarl Royals for the upcoming season, which begins on January 9, 2025.
Karthik’s inclusion is a significant coup for the SA20, as his vast experience and proven ability in T20 cricket will undoubtedly bolster the Paarl Royals’ lineup. Known for his sharp wicket-keeping and explosive batting, Karthik is expected to play a crucial role in the team’s campaign.
The Paarl Royals have retained a strong core of players, including captain David Miller, Lungi Ngidi, and Andile Phehlukwayo, and Karthik’s addition further strengthens their squad.
This development marks a new chapter in Karthik’s illustrious career, as he continues to contribute to the global T20 landscape.
